About Our Speaker:

Lee Walters is a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation for Tampa Division, where he investigates complex financial crime related matters for Brevard Resident Agency. With a background in American jurisprudence, Lee joined the FBI in 2019.

Prior to joining the Bureau, Lee was a prosecutor in the Commonwealth of Kentucky for 7 years. Lee has prosecuted matters civilly, criminally, and administratively; having been employed as an assistant county attorney for Fayette County Kentucky and a staff attorney for the Kentucky Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.

For the last 6 years, Lee has investigated several matters within Brevard County to include investment schemes (Ponzi, etc.), fraud against the government (Paycheck Protection Program, Medicaid and Medicare), embezzlement, public corruption, and antitrust. The investigations have led to several successful prosecutions resulting in significant prison sentences. Lee has also identified, frozen and returned assets associated to criminal activity in multiple fraud schemes.

Community outreach is important to the Bureau and Lee. Therefore, Lee has made it a priority to share examples and self-help techniques with the public to minimize or avoid future fraud.
